Studio Anna Yum- or SAY as we like to call it- is all about the enjoyment of creating. Whether you are 1 or 101, we are here because we love playing a huge role in inspiring people and their communities in their art journey. Here at SAY we promote the appreciation, practice and enjoyment of the visual arts and craft as a life long learning tool and an important part of who you are.
In our bustling workshops space we offer many art classes ranging from the messy art explorations for the 1-2 years olds to the more creative experimentations of the 2-5 years olds.
We also offer technical based after school art classes to the 5-11 year olds and some funky art and craft workshops for adults. Along with these set weekly program, we also offer party and events packages for all ages with a variety of themes and package types to choose from.
Outside of the SAY HQ we like to engage with the local community at festivals, markets, schools and stalls. We value the role art plays within the context of the everyday, and work alongside businesses to promote the importance and value of art in people’s lives.
About our founder, Anna Yum
After 11 years working as a Visual Art teacher, I became engrossed in the effect art can have on a persons happiness and mental well-being. Tossing away the white board and report cards allowed me to grab hold on to the vision of SAY, which has always been a big part of who I am.
I am a mum to two small girls and married to the most supportive and cheekiest husband in the world. Having such a supportive family [like my mum who still cooks me dinner now and then!] who offer the best encouragement and hugs helped me give birth to SAY.
The concept of SAY had been brewing inside of me for a while and grew in strength as my children grew in size! It feels truly amazing and heart warming to see the joy and delight felt by those who come along and are part of creating with us. So next time you are in the Woolloongabba area, come and say hi . I’d love to meet you!
